What a Group Home Wishes the Community Knew

We can help change these children’s future one kiddo at a time!

The stigma of foster children and bad behavior should be changed once and for all. These children all have their own unique personalities and should not be set to any classification.

My involvement in a group home and getting to work with many foster children year after year is one of the most rewarding opportunities. Don’t get me wrong, there are challenges to overcome at times but the act of healing surpasses any challenge that may come your way. Giving back to our community, our children of Arizona and mankind as a whole is why we are here on earth. Selflessness = Happiness!

I feel so blessed to be able to work with the children that are in the care of the Department of Child Safety (DCS).

Each child in foster care comes with their own challenges. For example, teenagers are often misunderstood and thought of as bad kids.  Many of these teenagers that are in foster care have never been taught boundaries in their childhood or had rules enforced prior to their time in foster care. It is so important for everyone to realize that these teenagers need the same love and patience and to learn these important skills (boundaries, self-esteem, confidence, manners) that you would typically teach earlier in life. All of the children, from babies to teen years that are in foster care want to be loved and accepted for who they are.  Most of the children in foster care have never had a positive adult role model in their life. They may have a funny way of showing it at first but ultimately want to flourish in life and need someone to hold their hand (figuratively and literally) to help guide them before it is too late.

They have so much love to give; all that it takes is a simple display of love, positive example and investing some time. It will be an everlasting memory for both parties involved!

Foster care can be heart wrenching at times but is worth every second of your time invested! You will hear hard-to-bear stories and unimaginable experiences. The children in foster care need each and every one of us! We need to help these beautiful children change their future! Every child wants to be successful in life and needs a helping hand to get there 😊 These Kids matter so much!
