Question: With the number of kids in foster care decreasing, is there still a need for foster parents?

There is still a need for foster parents. More kids are staying in kinship homes (meaning they are staying with a relative or someone they or their parents have some relationship with), but there are still kids in group home placements and more coming into care each day that are in need of foster homes.

If you are considering becoming a foster parent, we hope you will consider caring for sibling groups and older children as they are the groups with the highest need.
