Question: Do siblings get adopted by different families and, if so, do they still have contact with each other?

Unfortunately, too many sibling groups are not able to be adopted by the same family due to the number of siblings in care and the varying abilities of families to take in sibling groups. The level of communication and regular connection varies depending on location of families, health of connections (look up sibling trauma bond), willingness of adoptive families to engage in maintaining connections, etc. The best case scenario is that a sibling group would all be adopted together. The next best scenario is that adoptive families would prioritize maintaining that connection for their children and their siblings. Realistically, the answer to this question has a varying reality in real world situations.
