Question: Do you have to be a US resident to foster?  

There are requirements to becoming a foster parent. One of those requirements is being a legal US and Arizona resident. Here is a list of the other requirements to be eligible to foster.

You are eligible to foster if you are:

  • Married, single, divorced or widowed
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Legal U.S. and Arizona resident
  • Apartment dweller, renter or home-owner
  • Able to pass a fingerprint-based criminal history records check
  • Able to meet your household’s financial needs
  • Physically and mentally healthy
