Question: How many current foster families are there in Arizona?

As of the last report (https://dcs.az.gov/data/dcs-documents -semi annual child welfare reporting requirements Dec 2015), there were 4,551 foster homes providing 9,114 beds for kids in care.  Currently, there are over 21,000 kids in care.

Foster homes provide the best opportunity for kids in care to have a sense of normalcy during a time filled with turmoil. Since 2013 the number of available beds has increased by a mere 535 beds while the number of kids in care has increased by over 7,000.

If you are considering becoming a foster parent the first step is to attend orientation. Check out the upcoming schedule here (https://fosterarizona.org/foster-adopt/)
