Question: How much does it cost to adopt?
When talking with potential families about adopting, this question is usually a part of our conversation. Most people associate a high dollar amount with adoption, but when you adopt from the state foster care system, the state takes care of all the costs associated with the adoption. Some agencies require that adoptive families pay the cost of their home study up front to cover the time costs associated with writing a home study, but once a family adopts a child, these fees are returned to the adoptive family.
