Question: I have decided to close my foster care license. What can I do now to continue helping kids?

When we made the decision to close our license I had a huge feeling of “what now?”. Once your eyes are open to the need of kids in foster care, it is hard to just walk away. My suggestion would be to find an area that uses your talents and strengths to continue making an impact. If you are great at tutoring, there are opportunities to help kids in care do better at school. If you love connecting with kids and helping them know someone is on their side, mentoring could be a great fit. If you are an advocate and want to give them a voice, you could be an amazing CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocate).

If you are not at the place to foster, there are so many other options that allow you to make a huge impact. If you need help finding your niche, check out the opportunities we have listed or contact us. We can all make a difference and we would love to help you start that journey.
