Question: We are licensed foster parents in California. Do we have to start the process again to foster in Arizona?

If you are currently a licensed foster parent in another state and want to become licensed in Arizona, here is a list of what is required:

Application must furnish proof of licensure including dates of licensure

Licensing must furnish proof of license from other state and that applicant was in good standing at time of closure in other state.

Foster parents licensing in another state with a using a MAPP product or accepted alternative:  If Arizona application for foster care submitted within 12 months of date of closure in other state, applicant would need to complete 6 hours of training to include rules and program information + RPPS (Reasonable Prudent Parenting Standards) Training.

Foster parents licensing in another state with a using a MAPP product or accepted alternative:  If Arizona application for foster care submitted after 12 months of date of closure in other state, applicant would need to complete current Arizona Pre-Service Curriculum.
