Resources Baby!

There were a lot of great things that happened in 2018. We launched housing for adults aging out of foster care, helped kids find families, connected the community to the need in foster care, and ended the year with Foster Arizona having a place to call home. It was a crazy busy and unbelievably wonderful year.

As we blast into 2019, we are looking forward to another year of dreaming big, pushing boundaries of what has previously been deemed possible, and positively impacting lives of kids and adults that have been touched by the world of foster care. Throughout this year you will see one priority reflected in everything we do—RESOURCE!

  1. Resource the kids! We are working to expand our Kid Connection Events to better resource the kids in foster care. What does that mean? It means we are looking at how normalization activities can be fun while resourcing kids in the process. We are looking forward to having our first Female Empowerment event, Kid Conference connecting older youth with community resources and skills, and changing up some of our classic events to reflect this desire.

  1. Resource champions of at-risk children! We are running hard to launch Foster Cooperative. Starting in January, we are beginning the process of capturing quality trainings in Arizona as well as partnering with experts in the field of at-risk children around the country to provide excellent resources in one space; trainings, community resources, peer to peer connections all in Foster Cooperative. Our team is passionate about resourcing those on the front line of caring for kids so that both the kids and their families can thrive.

  1. Resource adults aging out of foster care! We are coming up on our year anniversary of providing housing opportunities for adults aging out of foster care and we are working to expand the program to have more reach so that we can see more young adults succeed at reaching their educational, vocational, and housing goals.

  1. Resource the community! We have always been about educating the community and providing resources on how they can get involved to positively impact the lives of kids in foster care. This year will be no different. We are working on telling stories- new stories of those directly impacted by foster care, helping more kids find forever families through sharing their stories, providing new blog content that is real and empowering, and creating more opportunities for direct impact.

If you are interested in getting deeper involved in the mission to educate, empower, and encourage Arizonans to positively impact the lives of kids in foster care and adults aging out of foster care, we hope you will consider joining us at our Volunteer Engagement Night.
