On December 26th we got to see many acts of kindness from professional sports players, broadcasters, fast food workers, business owners, dancers, and many more as a bunch of ordinary people came together to put on an event for kids living in foster care group homes. For some of the kids, this was their first holiday season without their family but, for far too many, this is just one of the countless Christmases that they have been waiting for a family to call their own.
We watched these kids play hard, laugh even harder, and enjoy a day without the worries of what tomorrow will bring. We watched the volunteers pour their hearts and talents into making sure that every kid they encountered had the best day possible and felt like they matter. We saw numerous people come together to sponsor a ticket so that this day was even a possibility. Being a part of these special moments continues to inspire us and affirms our mission to help every child have a family to call their own.
Foster Arizona is focused on educating, encouraging, and empowering Arizonans to get involved in our state’s foster care crisis. In 2016, we will continue to have events that allow volunteers and kids in care to have life-on-life experiences. We will bring awareness in our community. We will be here to answer any questions that you have and assist in your journey to connecting with kids in care. Without you, without me, without our community stepping in for these kids, nothing will change. What we all do matters because these kids matter and their future is on the line.
Foster Hope. Empower Change.
